Nowadays, children are constantly "freezing" on their phones or tablets, which, of course, annoys both parents and teachers. However, this tendency is quite widespread and it would be wrong not to notice it or fight it, so to speak, “head-on”, without much success. It is necessary to channel this energy “into a peaceful channel” - the most obvious way is to integrate learning elements into mobile applications in a playful way. This will instill in children the knowledge and skills in which they are limited due to new mobile gadgets.
Those areas of education that require perseverance and perseverance, which means a lot of time (taken away from other activities and games), but do not give an immediate positive result when mastering, suffer most from the factors of active distraction. One such area is mathematics.
The proposed application allows you to form the skills of using the four basic arithmetic operations in a child of 6-11 years old in a playful way without the active participation of parents. Mastering the program is not difficult, since the interaction scheme is based on the example of messaging - chat.
Here, however, lies a unique feature of this application - the chat is conducted by voice, not in writing: the phone says examples, and the child says the answers. The speed of the phone's speech, as well as the time allotted for answering the child, is set in the settings. Good results are obtained using a hands-free headset - the child hears examples better, reading them does not irritate others, and the phone hears the child better.
The phone (or tablet) sets examples, and the child answers - right or wrong, which is immediately reported to him by the electronic assistant. Each answer has its own color:
- gray is for operating mode prompt
- blue is for example text
- yellow is for silence or the child's answer is not clear to the phone
- green is for the correct answer
- red is for wrong answer and correction of wrong answer
Every time the child completes the solution of a series of examples without errors and omissions, he is assigned a prize in the form of a mark of achievement and a picture that he can copy and paste in other applications. All marks of achievements are saved.
By default, 2 actions are available: multiplication and addition, in the range from 0 to 8, but you can expand both the number of actions (subtraction and division will be added), and the range using in-app purchases.
Additionally, it is possible to choose another language (and pronunciation!). There are:
- English
- Russian
- Spanish
- German
This allows you to improve the assimilation of counting and mathematical operations when learning a foreign language, when the need arises. Some languages and pronunciations are immediately available on the device and work without Internet access, but some require online recognition - be careful when choosing.
Mathematics is an international language and the possibility of changing the language clearly demonstrates that the essence of actions and the properties of numbers remain unchanged.
Knowledge acquisition statistics are available for the parent:
- a list of achievements with an indication of the mathematical action, the number of examples and the date
- a list of the most common examples with the correct answers (the child has learned already)
- a list of the last seven examples with errors (you need to pay attention to them – perhaps something is incomprehensible or underestimated)
- a list of the last seven examples, the answers to which have not been received - the phone did not hear the answer or did not understand it (here it is necessary to try to help – the recognition system may be flawed, or the child does not want to answer, for example - does not know the answer)
The application is being actively developed and supplemented. At the moment, the analysis of the child's learning process has been seriously improved.
